Pungi The instrument the Indians use to charm Cobras is called Pungi.

They can only charm Cobras.

*Cobras are deaf so they follow the instrument with their eyes.

I think the Pungi is a very interesting instrument because it charms cobras,makes people enjoy music and it is something very traditional in India.

SitarVery ancient instrument in India.

Used to play classic music.

Devolved in the 14th century.

Also called Miraj Sitar.

I think this a very nice instrument that is played in the streets for people to enjoy.

It's sound is very different than other instrument that's why I think this instrument is special.

It's a string instrument.

Used to play Hindustani music.

A famous artist that played the Vichitra Veena is Pt. Gopal Krishan Sharma.

I think the Vichitra Veena is a very relaxing music because it is very soft and enjoyable.

MusicIt is extremely important because the music represents their religion and spirituality.

They use music to celebrate important events and ceremonies.

Kuchipudi Dance

This dance consists with very soft and fluid movement.

They dance most of the times in ceremonies.

VERY popular in all over South India.

Manipuri Dance

Classical dance.

It was created in Manipur, India.

Very religious and spiritual dance.

Most of the times they dance in socio-cultural ceremonies.

Dance and music are considered gifts of god that's why dance and music are very important in their culture.

Doing this presentation I learned a lot of things. Such as they believe that music and dance is a gift god gave them.Their dance and music are VERY different as in other countries.
