and Their Spouses
Honorably discharged veterans and their
spouses are eligible to apply for long-term
care, independent living, memory care, or short
-term rehabilitation services.
Veterans must have established Indiana resi-
dency for a least one year prior to admission.
*There is no wartime service requirement. *

Originally created to care for veterans of the
Civil War, the Indiana Veterans’ Home wel-
comed our first resident in 1896.
Our campus is located on 250+ wooded acres
in West Lafayette, Indiana. Over the years,
IVH has transformed into a thriving commu-
nity of independent living and comprehen-
sive care for veterans and their spouses.

OUR MISSION
The mission of the Indiana Veterans’ Home is to honor Indi-
ana’s veterans and their spouses by providing the highest level
of care in a therapeutic home-like environment, enhancing
health and yielding optimal quality of life.
To do this and meet the unique needs of these heroes and their
families, we deliver compassionate and comprehensive skilled
care while integrating arts and cultural programming and preserving the rich history of the Home.

Long Term Care Insurance
Veterans with a 70% or greater service-
connected disability rating receive nursing care
at no charge to the veteran or their family when
residing in a comprehensive care setting.
Under the Federal VA Higher Per Diem Pro-
gram, veterans needing nursing home care get
to keep all of their income and assets—
including their military disability pensions,
while receiving top-notch care.
