Once you register your car in Indiana, you are required to display license plates unique to your vehicle, which show your vehicle is registered and current.
License plates are as important as your driver’s license because they identify your car from other cars. The BMV of Indiana issues license plates and registration stickers when you register your car for the first time, or renew your registration. Standard Indiana license plates are white with blue letters, and all passenger vehicles must carry one on the front and one on the back of the car.
