Important issues addressed in the zone There were 4 EC. Meetings and 1 election scrutiny meeting held during this year and
various matters of importance were discussed.
Having obtained the Physical copy of the Zonal PAN card by the sustained effort of Dr Jay Shastri, has put an end to various financial and bank relating issues in the Zone. Dr Jay has now initiated streamlining of the zonal accounts and has been working on providing support and guidance to all local and state branches within the WZB to obtain their own PAN card. Issues pertaining to income tax are being examined in consultation with our CA and seniors in the zone. The IPSWZB Journal the Archives of Psychiatry is being further revamped, under the able guidance of Dr Jayita Deodhar. The Zonal journal has been plagued with funding issues as Dr Jayita has made a specific proposal for enhancement of fees which was tabled in the AGBM. Appropriate decisions were taken to strengthen the finances involve in making the zonal journal a regular feature and having maximum reach. To feed the journal, which will be soon indexed on Pub-Med A special Research Sub Committee has been formed chaired by Dr Sandip Shah. We lost the old website www.ipswzb.org due to disappearance of the service provider. This matter was swiftly handled by Dr Abhijit Faye and Dr Vivek Kirpekar on specific legal advice
6
and directions of the office bearers. Subsequently, we now have a New Website www.ipswzb.net. This redesigned, faster and more upgradable website is provided by an established specialist in the field. The design of the website has been made more user-friendly and includes all our requirements. It has a login corner, member’s directory including official details of all the members, news and updates (about all the activities of IPSWZB), secretary’s report (annual), information about paper and poster presentation in annual conference of IPSWZB, etc. We have separate section of discussion forum (to discuss and share scientific material), resources including important information, useful links and books, calendar for important events and days in psychiatry as well as facility to link Journal of IPSWZB to the website to make the articles available online. We are also utilizing it as a media for communication among the members. We have updated the photographs of conference and important news about events and activities of IPSWZB. We are also utilizing the website to update members about events of IPS. More and more zonal members are updating their details making our site great resource.
