MooseLodge#1533ishappytoannounceournewKitchenManager,Alana“Lane”Calland.Lane,(picturedleft),comestousafterpreviouslymanagingaBBQsmokehouseinUrbana.“Ihavedoneeverythingyoucandoinarestaurant,fromservingtablestocooking,tomanaging,“saidLane.SheisenjoyinghernewroleasKitchenManagerforourlodge,anddeemsit“anicechangefromthecorporateworld.”
Summertimeisextremelyhecticforthekitchen,asthepopulationaroundthelakeswellswithcampers,boatersandseasonalhomeowners.Keepingthingsrunningsmoothlyisthenumberonechallengeforallrestaurantsaroundthelake,andtheIndianLakeMooseKitchenisnoexception.“Ithinkthat,withalittletimeandteamwork,thekitchenwilldogreatthings.Wearehopingforamuchsmoothersummernextyear,”statedLane.Nexttimeyouarein,feelfreetostopbythekitchen,sayhelloandwishLaneandherstaffthebest!

TheMenandWomenofIndianLakeMooseLodgewillpresentAddisynButlerandAustinFerguson,bothfromRussell’sPoint,withtheirown“AMTRYKES”onWednesday,December13attheLodge.SantaandMrs.Clauswillalsobeonhand.AMTRYKESarespeciallydesignedandbuiltTrykesforthosewithmobilityissues.Addisyn,10,suffersfrom“grossmotordelay”andcannotrideabicycle.Austin,6,isnonverbalandsuffersfrom“Angelman’sSyndrome”.Thetherapist-approvedTrykeshaveapricerangeof$600to$1,400,dependingupontheircomplexity.Asidefromtheirtherapeuticvalue,theyallowthechildrentoridewiththeirsiblingsandfriends,foraddedmentalsupportandfreedom.IndianLakeMooseMember,DawnStump,ischairmanfortheproject,whichraisedfundsfortheAMTRYKES.TheAMTRYKESwereprovidedbytheLocalChapterofAMBUCSInternational.
