Although Indian soil has produced many great warriors, philosophers, scientists and many more, India is called the ‘Land of Saints’, because above all, what we cherish is ‘LOVE and PEACE’.A King built the Taj to pronounce love to his beloved wife, and perhaps even the gods gaze upon this mortal love with awe. Every Indian heart can relate to it, because it is filled with love, be it for the country, elders, nature or humanity.Taj Mahal is also an epitome of religious integrity. Via Taj Mahal, Shah Jahan laid the foundation of an unspoken bond among the religious communities that will last till eternity.

Even today when the moon is full lit, it seems that the Taj has been blessed forth by the bounty of heavens, and every beating heart on earth is

overwhelmed with love.

One of the seven wonders, The Taj, where pathway beside the reflecting pool with fountains upto the mausoleum, crafted in soft & pure white marble, that

shines like a diamond on the night of full moon, and jewelled with semi precious stones, where in the serenity of paradise rests the Queen in peace with her King .

Architecture of The Taj

• Despite being the creation of a Mughal king, the architecture of Taj Mahal was globally inspired. It's a fusion of Persian, Central Asian, Aryan and Islamic architecture.

• The pillars or minarets surrounding Taj Mahal are slightly tilted outwards so that in the event of an earthquake they will fall away from the tomb.

• The construction cost of this masterpiece monument was around 320 million Indian rupees.

• Around 20000 workers and 1000 elephants were employed worked day and night for 20 years. Ustad Ahmad Lauhari was the architect.

• 30 different variety of precious and semi precious stones were used to furthermore beautify the Taj.

• The Taj Mahal is perfectly symmetrical in every way, except for one thing–the two tombs inside are not equal in size. This is because the male tomb had to be larger than the female tomb.

It changes from the shy pinkish hue in the morning, to glowing milky white in the evening and burnished golden at night when lit by the moon.

Some people have a notion that changing colours depict the changing mood of the queen

Apart from The Taj, Yoga is also an invaluable part of Indian Heritage.

Derived from the Sanskrit word yuj, Yoga means union of the individual consciousness or soul with the Universal Consciousness or Spirit. Yoga is a 5000 year old Indian body of knowledge. Though many think of yoga only as a physical exercise where people twist, turn, stretch, and breathe in the most complex ways, these are actually only the most superficial aspect of this profound science of unfolding the infinite potentials of the human mind and soul.On 11th December 2014, United Nations General Assembly declared International Yoga Day, which will be celebrated and cherished every year on June the 21st.
