Managing for Results—Project
Management for today and
tomorrow
Project Management has come to be the mainstay of an organizational effort for improved bottom-line results. Today’s manager focuses on comple-tion of the project through managing the project performance parameters . In the process the em-phasis on results is lost. Constant course correc-tion (rebaselining) generally, is blamed on project dynamics. Understanding these project dynamics to reset the focus on results is vital in extracting value from project management. Formal project management strengthened by usage of industry acknowledged logical frame-works go a long way in maintaining the sanity of results. Result based project management con-centrates in using professional methodologies in managing the projects. This is the medicine to treat the root cause than the symptom.
