Nationalism Rises In India

In the early 1800s, some Indians began demanding more
modernization
And they want to have a role in governing
themselves.
Ram Mohan Roy had a modern thinking to
educate Indians
Began a campaign to move India away from traditional practices
and ideas
"Father of modern India" Ram Mohan Roy saw arranged child marriages and the rigid caste separation as parts of religious life that need
to be changed
He believed that if the practice were not changed, India would
continue to be controlled by outsiders
Roy's writings inspired other Indian reformers to call for adoption of
western ways
Roy founded a social reform movement that worked to change
in India
Nationalist feelings started to surface in
India
Conclusion:As India was trying to modernize by a group of people, Ram Mohan Roy came to help Indians with ideas to educate them in way that they
are happy, and therefore he is known as "The Father of the Modern India"
