Topography
Northern India is comprised of low hills, and parts of the Himalayan Mountain Range. The central and south are relatively flat, with portions of rolling plains. India is surrounded by water on the west, south and portions of the east side. The low point is the Indian ocean at 0 feet, and the high point is mount Kanchenjunga at around 25,800 feet. The main river in India is the Ganges.

The country has a total of 63,974 km of railroad and this ranks them as 4th in the world. 18,927 km of the railroad is electrified. The Indian Railways owns over 200,000 (freight) wagons, 50,000 coaches and 8,000 locomotives. This is the only rail company in India, as it and other rail related companies are all owned by the Indian Government.
