SUGGESTIONS FOR CONTRIBUTORS

The Canadian Slavonic Papers welcomes manuscripts in either English or French from members of the Association or scholars outside of Canada. All manu- scripts should be submitted in triplicate, double-spaced and typed on one side of the page only. In addition to three copies of the manuscript, authors may also submit their articles on diskette. Footnotes should be numbered consecutively, double-spaced and placed at the end of the paper. Manuscripts normally should not exceed 25 pages in length (including footnotes) and cannot be considered if they exceed 35 pages. Un- fortunately, because of rising costs, the expenses of reproducing maps, diagrams, and large charts must be borne in part by the author or his university. Authors can save time both for themselves and the editors by using the Library of Congress system of transliteration and the Papers

' standard form of documentation. Authors wishing to have manuscripts returned should enclose a stamped ad-

dressed envelope. Decision on publication normally takes about three months and the editors assume that during this time the manuscript will not be under considera- tion by any other journal. Authors of successful manuscripts upon publication will receive one complimentary copy of the journal and fifteen tear copies of their article.

All manuscripts as well as books for review should be sent to The Editor, Canadian Slavonic Papers, Department of Comparative Literature, Univer- sity of Alberta, 347 Arts Building, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 2E6 Canada.
