the story began back in 1921, when
a young dental technician and car
enthusiast Georges Paulin, watched a
neighbourstrugglingtoclosetheroofof
hiscabrioletcarinathunderstorm.
Fromthis chanceobservationGeorges
designed and patented in 1932
his‘Eclipse’ retractable roof system.With money from his father-in-law, Georges brought a
Peugeot301andfittedhis roof system to the car. thiswas the startof a long association
withPeugeot,whowassoimpressedbythePeugeot301‘roadster’itpurchasedtherightsto

rigorous specification in termsof quality andoperating

the 207 ccVillaverde manufacturing plant in Madrid,
Spainandthentransferredtothemainassemblylineto

developed from the 206 cc, the operation of the
207ccroofdifferssignificantlyintermsofconvenience,
thanks to its entirely automatic operation without the
need for any manual roof release. the only manual
operation consists of pressing the control button for
around 25 seconds during which time the opening or
closing cycle is completed after all four windows have
beenloweredautomatically.
