FAQWhat is FIND WALLY 2018? FIND WALLY is a national event celebrating Idependent Bookshop Week and IBW’s “Get Local” movement, supporting indie booksellers with a unique promotional opportunity offered exclusively to IBW members. It’s a month-long hunt for Wally hosted by your bookshop with participation from 10 business establishments in your town. Spread the “Get Local” message by livening up your town with a community-wide activity which everyone – kids, parents and Wally-lovers of all ages – is invited to join.
How does FIND WALLY 2018 work? On Saturday 16 June 2018, Wally-Watchers will set off on a hunt to find Wally hidden in 10 business establishments in your town. Hundreds of eagle-eyed Wally-Watchers will be eligible for prizes, the competition culminating on Saturday 14 July with a grand ceremony at your shop with press, your mayor, and/or other local officials on hand.
What are the requirements for FIND WALLY bookshops? Participating bookshops agree to:
1. Order a minimum of £150 worth of Where’s Wally? books from 1 May 2018 through to 14 July 2018 from your regional manager. Special discounts are available.
2. Create an in-store Wally display and/or devote a store window to FIND WALLY.
3. Host a Wally celebration event at your shop sometime during July 2018.
4. Have fun!

WHAT’S NEW FOR 2018? New search: The five intrepid travellers (Wally, Wenda, Woof, Wizard Whitebeard and Odlaw) have dropped their precious items in your bookshop. Wally seekers will set out on a search to find Wally’s key, Woof’s bone, Wenda’s camera, Wizard Whitebeard’s scroll and Odlaw’s binoculars somewhere in your store.
New Photo Frame: This fun photo frame is perfect for taking photos of Wally fans! It can be found in your FIND WALLY kit and as a PDF on www.indiebookshopweek.co.uk.

What resources are available to make my FIND WALLY event a success?Walker Books will send you a free kit containing everything you need to launch your own FIND WALLY celebration in your town.
Your kit will contain:
• A sturdy Wally standee (1 metre high)
• 10 mini Wally standees
• 100 “I Found Wally” cards
• Photocopiable sheets, including “I Found Wally” checklist and poster
• 1 cut-out sheet of lost items – Wally’s key, Woof’s bones, Wenda’s camera, Wizard Whitebeard’s scroll and Odlaw’s binoculars
• 1 photo frame with text: “I found Wally shopping at my local bookshop!”
