Independent Artist Case StudyI have chosen to research Adele for my case study.

Artist InfoThe genre of music that she considered is a mixture between Jazz and Pop.

AdeleUK DistributionAdele`s music is distributed in the UK by XL recordings, who she has been signed to since 2006.

As XL are a British company, in the US her music is distributed by Sony Music.

Worldwide DistributionAs I mentioned previously, XL recordings only distribute in the UK.

They have a deal with Sony Music that allows them to distribute Adele`s music throughout the world. Adele is signed to them in the USA.

Album ReleasesAdele has released 2 studio albums, both with XL recordings named 19 and 21. Both have been available to buy in a physical format.

In 2012, Adele won best album at the Grammys for 21 which was the biggest selling album in 2012.

Social Media PromotionAdele`s website launched the promotion the 21 days of Adele, giving fans videos and hints to what the album would be like. There was an option to live chat with her and it offered a little viewing point into her life.

Adele also used her twitter account to publicize her album to her almost 20 million followers.

Online AvailabilityAll of Adele`s songs and albums are available to buy on ITunes and the Amazon music service.

They can also be streamed from websites such as Spotify and Rdio.

AdeleVevo is also on YouTube, giving access to all of Adele`s songs with the official music videos.
