The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits held

its eighth annual Oklahoma Nonprofit Ex-cellence (ONE) Awards on Saturday April

25th, at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa Oklahoma, honoring 24 nonprofits from throughout the state including INCA

Community Services for superior leader-ship and exceptional service to their con-

stituents and communities.

The ONE Awards honors 24 organizations

in eight categories: arts and humanities, community, education, health services, open services, self-sufficiency, seniors, and

youth development. INCA was selected as a finalist in the self-sufficiency category.

Out of approximately 16,500 nonprofits statewide, only 24 were named finalists.

The Potts Family Foundation sponsored the self-sufficiency category in which INCA

was nominated. Their foundation has partnered with over 15,000 organizations and awarded over $6 million in grants

over the last quarter of a century to fulfill their mission of providing support for sus-

tainable early childhood initiatives and

nonprofit capacity building in Oklahoma.

INCA was honored to be among many large and impactful non-profit agencies from across the state being recognized.

The banquet was very inspiring not only

because of the great amount of support

provided by the sponsors but also to see the diverse showcase of resources their

fellow non-profits provide to their commu-

nities throughout the state of Oklahoma.

ensure the individuals within our four counties are served to the best of our

abilities with as many resources as we have available. Our staff believes we

are winners every single day but this nomination highlights our successes in a

The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits is the state's preeminent organization con-

vening charitable entities from throughout the state for training, consultation, net-

working, advocacy and recognition. Com-prising more than 700 members from throughout Oklahoma, the Center's prima-

ry mission is to build better communities through effective nonprofits. Since 1981,

the organization has assisted thousands of individuals and organizations through var-

ious programs designed to build capacity and positively impact the lives of Oklaho-

county recognition events in the month of May. Both

the Johnston and Murray county events were a big success

thanks to the support from com-munity sponsors. This year’s

theme reflects the true sentiment of the staff:

“Volunteers are a Treasure Beyond Measure.”

The Johnston County Recognition luncheon was held on May 1, 2015. The event took place at the MSC Aggie Ballroom and the wonderful lunch was prepared by Great

Western Dining food service. Johnston County Commissioner Melvin Farmer and Kathy Ross from the commissioners office attended as guests for their support of the pro-

gram.

The Murray County Recognition was held on May 15, 2015. The event took place at the Artesian Hotel in Sulphur and the wonderful lunch was prepared by

Bedre Cafe. Casino Management offered a $5 token to any volunteers who wanted to come over and try

their luck as entertainment. Pam Chit-wood from Arbuckle Memorial Hospi-

tal and husband Fred, along with Rene Flippen from Murray County

DHS attended as special guests. Rene spoke about a need for volunteers at the DHS office in

Sulphur.

On May 9, 2015 we volunteered for the 6th year in the postal

food drive. This drive asks the community to leave bags of non-perishable food by the mailbox for the carriers to pick up. We

packed, sorted, and weighed the food as drivers brought it to the post office This year over 4,500 pounds of food were collected

and donated to the INCA local food bank. We appreciate this project and all their

hard work every

year.

Flex Drivers (All Areas) Operates a transit vehicle, as assigned, for the transporting of par-

ticipants in the transit programs, following established policies, practices and procedures. The driv-er shall, at all times, utilize professional and safe practices in operating transit vehicles. This is a

safety sensitive position in which all precautions should be taken to insure the safety of the partici-

pants and public.

4 year old Teacher (Oakland) The Teacher is responsible for total program activities of the

classroom. Plan activities and assure that all staff are involved and in compliance with requirements.

To provide pre-school children with age appropriate learning experiences according to their indi-vidual abilities. Encourages and assists parents in becoming involved in their children’s education.

Knowledge of normal early childhood development and capable of adjusting to meet the needs of individual children. Skillful in maintaining effective working relationships within assigned area as well

as cooperating with all other Agency staff responsible for assuring program compliance. Handles confidential work with tact and discretion. Keeps direct supervisor informed. Capable of following

both oral and written instructions. Bachelors Degree with Endorsement in Early Childhood Education; A baccalaureate or advance degree in any field and course work equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children. Current Oklahoma

State Teaching Certificate.

HTS-Habilitation Training Specialist I & III Help train individuals on certain tasks to help

them become more independent for themselves. These can be daily living skills such as cleaning

tasks, personal hygiene, etc. This depends on the actual person what you would be training on. HTS jobs right now would be fill-in positions as needed and are available in all counties.

DLS-Daily Living Support Staff II Assists individual(s) with developmental disabilities in ac-

quiring and maintaining individually prescribed self-help, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to reside in a home or community-based setting. Daily living support services are provided to the

individual for supervision issues who needs 24/7 care with goals to be worked on daily so the indi-vidual can reside successfully and accomplish tasks they would normally do for themselves if they

did not have a disability in the home they lease or own by providing supervision and oversight.

After the torrential rains and flash flooding on the evening of May19, 2015 staff at the INCA of-fices in Atoka were arrived at work to find flood and water damage. This did not get them down though, they immediately began the clean up with the resilience, ingenuity , and perseverance we so value in our employees. They were able to make a big difference by cleaning up the mud, water and salvaging supplies

which had been water damaged. A big thank you to the staff at INCA in

Atoka.
