This is shown in Evil Dead when the antagonist physically hurts the victim character.

Moreover an unknown location was another typical convention of a horror genre film and this was seen when the antagonist was in a discrete location in order for the victim to feel vulnerable and helpless which is usually portrayed in the horror films. Moreover the unknown location, which was the basement, added an element of mystery to make the audience feel suspense. This is shown in Evil Dead as there is a unknown location in the woods where the antagonist character hides.

Furthermore, there was a female character which challenges the typical masculine antagonist being dominant in the horror genre.
