May 2015 – Changes and Happenings at Tustin Ranch Golf Club
2015 seems to be moving along like a freight train at Tustin Ranch Golf Club, and the season continues to heat up with many events and happenings through the month of May. We’re proud of our staff and the commitment they have to making sure we provide the best experiences for members, guests and regular players and events. Specifically, we like to give our appreciation to Jose Lara, Senior Line Cook, and Cornelio Avalos, Lead Gardener (photo below at April 29th Luncheon). After countless breakfasts and lunches; and acres of turf and flowers maintained in the past 25+ years respectively, Jose and Cornelio have decided to relax and enjoy the retirement life (though Jose just couldn’t give it completely up and will continue to fill in for us part-time). We thank them for their dedicated service and wish them all the best for rest and relaxation. If you are golfing in May, we have a variety of opportunities for all to come out and play for both fun and competition – Couples Events, Ladies Events, Monster Day for the under-challenged, Titleist Fit Day for the latest in Titleist equipment, and Twilight Rates all day on the last Monday of the month. On Thursday evenings, we kick-off our BB&B program on the Driving Range for the summer. This year we’re including free instructional clinics to help you fine-tune your game, or get started for beginners. Come out and meet our PGA instructors for a few pointers. Details are available throughout the newsletter, but even if it’s for a relaxation round or bucket of balls – We appreciate you spending your time with us. If you are looking for the best view in town while enjoying good eats and entertainment, we continue to work on our programs for your next visit. The new Dining Room facilities have been a big hit. The BeerFest on Tres-de-Mayo looks like it will be well attended prior to the Couples Golf Tourna-ment. Tacos on Tuesday and Jazz Nights on Wednesday continue to create a buzz in the clubhouse, and with burgers on Thursday you can take in the view from the Pine Tree Patio. We continue to work on our evening offerings, so keep watch for further details. Finally, don’t forget to make your reservations for Mother’s Day Brunch at Tustin Ranch. Seating is getting close to sold-out, so get your names in now.
Finally, we are very proud of our Junior Golf Programs at Tustin Ranch. Most of us were introduced to the game as a junior, and I believe golf teaches values and dedication that participants can use throughout their life. I’m proud that in the past 25 years, Tustin Ranch’s Junior Program has contributed significantly to the development of many youth and community members. Whether you’re a new Junior Player, or an experienced Junior Player, our Junior Pass Program is a great way to develop skills, be outdoors, and meet great life-long friends. If you’re looking for great summer activities in 2015, be sure to consider our Junior Pass Program or some of our Junior Golf Clinics and Summer Camps. It’s a game and a valuable experience that can be a life-long benefit. Thank you again for your memberships and making Tustin Ranch Golf Club the place to spend your relaxation and recreation time. Sincerely,
Steve Plummer, CGCS General Manager
