    HELLO Area 1 Community Members!Its now been 60-plus days since Ive taken the helm at U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area Is Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, and I have to say, things are o to a good start and theres more to come.I want to thank all of you for participating in our Independence Day Celebration July 4 at Camp Casey.Even with the o -and-on rains we had, you stood fast and continued to enjoy the food, beverages and varied activities wed laid on for that big annual event.

    You took part in the days Hot Dog Eating competition, the Best Ribs Competition, and of course the Chili Cook O .At FMWR we love pu ing together these special events for YOU. e best part of pu ing on a show like the one we did on Independence Day is seeing your happy faces, the many families who turned out for the day, your obvious delight at the Fireworks nale, and also watching you head home at the end with that What a great day! look on your faces.As you read this, FMWR is planning our next major community event: the Area I Labor Day Festival.So keep reading In e Zone magazine, see whats out there for you this month, and be ready for the next great community party.See you out and about!...Jammie G.
