• Reference Manager is able to import references from over 50 different databases. It is, therefore, essential to make a note of both the name of the database and of the service you are using before starting this process.

• Select tagged or labelled text format .For example, in Ovid BIOMED choose BRS/Tagged.

[Space Bar] on your keyboard You can mark or unmark all references at once

Deleting References

• Highlight a reference and select <Delete …> from the <References> menu. Click on <OK>.

• Or highlight the reference and then click on the <Delete> button on your keyboard. delete.

Copying References

Highlight the appropriate reference. <Duplicate …> from the <References> menu. In the “Fields containing data” box, select the

fields to copy into the new reference. To copy all fields, click on <Include All>. To

deselect all the fields, click on <Exclude All>. Click on <OK>. The “Reference Edit” window

appears with the new reference in it, where you can make any necessary changes.

• <Copy Between Databases …> from the <References> menu.

• In the “Source Reference List” drop-down, select the database FROM which to copy the references.

• specify which references you wish to copy (highlighted, marked, unmarked or all).

• In the “Destination Database” drop-down, select the database TO which you are copying references.

• To mark the copied references, check the box to “Mark Copied Reference(s)”.

• <Copy> • <Yes> or <Yes to All>• If the reference ID of the reference being copied already

exists in the Destination database, a message appears notifying you that a new reference ID will be assigned to this reference.

How To Insert Citation?

• “Cite While You Write” is an add-on to your word processor (e.g. MS Word2000). It allows you to cite references while you are writing your manuscript.

•To view the “Reference Manager 11” toolbar in MS Word 2000, go to the <View> menu, then <Toolbars>, and then select <Reference Manager11>.

• Open your manuscript in MS Word2000

• Position your cursor at the point in your manuscript where you want to insert a citation. Select “Insert Citation” from the “Reference Manager 11” toolbar

• Click <Insert>

• If you want to insert more than one reference in the list displayed, select multiple references by using the [Ctrl] key on your keyboard
