Introduction: Ministry of Jahad-Agriculture is responsible to
produce and coordinate the agricultural statistics information in the country.
There are also other organizations, which produce statistics related to their own field of work like :
• Statistical Center of Iran• Central Bank and Agricultural Planning• Economic & Rural Development Research Institute .

a) Statistical methodologies & practices for collecting & validating data Timely and reliable statistical information is one of the
most important requests for development plans and policies aimed at improving the efficiency of production and distribution of food and agricultural products in countries for raising their standards of living and providing the policy analysis and decision-making needed to ensure food security.
Generally, the agricultural surveys that are conducted in Iran are :• Census • Sampling surveys• Register Based

The main importance General census of Agriculture 2014
To provide frames for agricultural sample surveys by producing on a regular basis data and fundamental, such as crop and livestock production and area in holdings. farm size , land use, livestock numbers, the use of machinery , number of holdings with each crop and livestock type.
To involve the collection of data at the individual holding level.
To Produce the wider range of data than administrative reporting systems and data are collected and processed at the holding level with each crop.
To provide data for any specific geographic area. To provide a good basis of monitoring the MDGS
(Millennium elelopment goals) over time . because it is normally undertaken every ten years.

The major sample surveys conducts just for crops by using list frame from results of recently agriculture census. And periodicity of the surveys for agriculture crops is annual but subsector : Horticulture, Livestock, Forestry, Fishery and Aquaculture statistics are expertise and records data based.
Two-stage sampling and in first stage villages are
stratified . In first stage, sample units are villages and holders are units of the ultimate stage but data is collected for the holdings of sample holders.
