Silvalea is one of the best known names in replacement patient sling manufacturing in the UK, with a heritage dating back to 1993. Silvalea is synonymous with innovation, quality and revolutionary design.
Silvalea’s foresight, and innovation led to the introduction of the first Parasilk In-situ sling in 1997; specifically designed to fit the tight confines of a moulded wheelchair.
The Silvalea Parasilk In-situ sling revolutionised patient transfer slings providing safety, comfort and dignity to the end user and caregivers alike.
The design and development of the Silvalea In-situ range of slings has always been part of the company’s ethos to put both end users and caregivers at the heart of the company’s product innovation.
Silvalea has developed and introduced new materials, as well as detachable tapes on loop fixing options to provide greater comfort, reduce pressure and provide a higher degree of safety. All of these innovations and R&D continue to answer different end user needs to provide a comfortable easy application In-situ sling.
Silvalea have specifically sourced and developed the use of this ‘spacer fabric’ for end users who may have skin integrity issues. This multi stretch fabric made of three dimensional mesh adapts to the end user’s body shape. Ideal In-situ use* and can be used for bathing. Dries quickly and can be tumbled at a low heat without shrinkage.*Paired with the specific In-situ sling type/design. Risk assessment should always be carried out in reference to skin integrity for In-situ slings.
Silvalea’s combination of R&D, material fabrication, tailoring and sling construction means we are able to offer a truly superior sling option in the worldwide patient handling market.
By working with medical specialists and end users from different sectors means that Silvalea’s commitment to innovation and product enhancement is a normal part of Silvalea’s manufacturing process.
The Silva-Superfine with COOLMAX fabric integrates many challenges in one; In-situ comfort, durability, two way stretch to hug the end user as well as being a lightweight, cool, breathable soft mesh. COOLMAX fabric is designed to move moisture away from the body and enhance fabric drying rate thus keeping users feeling cool and dry. The fabric is a cool Mesh and has been developed to be used in moulded chairs and for applications that can sustain high movement patterns and extensions.
The Silva-Superfine MAXI fabric is a lightweight, cool, breathable soft mesh. Ideal for bathing, dries fast and can be tumbled at low temperatures. Fabricated with a higher tensile weight limit of 220kgs.
All of the Silvalea In-situ slings use fabrics and materials which help reduce pressure to vulnerable areas of the body, allowing end users to remain seated for longer with greater comfort.
Detailed tailoring and construction of each In-situ sling ensures that the sling moulds to the end user’s body, the sling is fabricated without internal seams which would create pressure build up in sensitive areas.
