World renowned neurotologist Michael E. Glasscock, III, M. D. trained with internationally acclaimed surgeons John Shea, III, M.D. from Memphis and William F. House, M.D. from Los Angeles prior to founding The Otology Group in Nashville, Tennessee in 1974. In 2004, the prestigious practice merged into the Vanderbilt Department of Otolaryngology forming The Otology Group of Vanderbilt. During his career, Dr. Glasscock published in excess of two hundred and fifty scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and is the Editor of Surgery of the Ear, now in its seventh edition. He

Dr. Glasscock is the past president of the American Otologic Society. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Otolaryngology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. In its 30-year history, The Otology Group has become one of the world’s acknowledged centers of excellence for treatment of ear disorders.
