SOLUTIONS AEC OVERVIEW

Solutions AEC is a national MPE design and construction company with offices here in Tempe, AZ, and in St. Louis, MO. Solutions AEC was founded in 2004. One of the goals of the company was to be involved with over 100 LEED or highly sustainable projects in the first 10 years of business. They accomplished that goal in the first 10 years. Another notable achievement in that time, was the completion of the World’s First Living Building, which we are going to discuss a bit today, the Tyson Living Learning Center for Washington University in St. Louis, MO.

MATTHEW L. FORD , PE, CPD, LEED AP, CXA

Mr. Ford is a co-founder and Principal of Solutions AEC. Mr. Ford’s leadership and engineering experience have led Solutions AEC to become a national MPE engineering company working across the country including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Mr. Ford’s technical expertise encompass a wide range of complicated interrelated systems and equipment. He has technically designed and managed a wide range of project types including; biomedical engineering buildings, large commercial buildings for Fortune 500 companies, hospital projects, higher education and large institutional projects. Regarding sustainability, Mr. Ford has participated in varying capacities in the design, construction, and commissioning process of many highly sustainable and living building projects.

Mr. Ford obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Kansas State University.

Mr. Ford is a registered professional engineer. He is also a sustaining member of the ASHRAE, ASME, ASPE, NFPA, AABC Commissioning Group (ACG). Mr. Ford holds certificates of training in building energy simulation software, outdoor air ventilation standards and optimization, and combustion technology implementation.

MATTHEW B. SPENCER, PE, LEED AP BD+C

Mr. Spencer is the Managing Director of Solutions AEC Arizona. Mr. Spencer’s project experience includes government, healthcare, assisted living, education, university, commercial, churches, industrial and food and beverage projects. His experience includes mechanical and plumbing engineering, highly sustainable project certification, energy modeling and audits.

Mr. Spencer obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering at Kansas State University.

Mr. Spencer is a registered professional engineer. He is also a LEED-AP BD+C. He is also a sustaining member of ASHRAE. Mr. Spencer holds certificates of training in building energy simulation software, strategies for success in LEED, ASHRAE Standard 62.1, and ASHRAE Standard 90.1.
