Gympie Regional Libraries will be conducting their annual Gold Rush Literary Event in October 2013.
The Gympie Regional Libraries Gold Rush Literary Awards Event is one of the ways in which Gym-pie Regional Council and the li-brary service contribute to the Gympie Gold Rush Birthday Cele-brations.
One of the aims of a literary com-petition such as this, is to expose the many hidden talents of people in this area which may otherwise go unrecognised, and to encour-age the writing and illustrating tal-ents of all who choose to partici-pate.
The competitions are open to chil-dren 10 to 16 years and adults 17 and over, who reside in the Gym-pie Regional Council area and its surrounds.
Entrants are free to choose the topic or subject matter they wish to write about.
Conditions of entry will be out-lined on the entry forms, which can be collected from any of the Gympie Regional Libraries and the Bendigo Bank after 16th April.
