9:15 – 10:30 Evolving Mobile Systems of Engagement in Your Enterprise
The strong business motivations to deliver mobile applications into the market quickly drives aggressive schedules for mobile
development projects. Inception-to-delivery in weeks or months is common and the accepted norm. How can you deliver mobile
apps with agility along with traditional mainframe development? In this session, we'll show you how may already have the interfaces
to leverage existing, trusted mainframe applications to create cutting-edge mobile applications that run on today's most popular
handheld and tablet devices.

10:30 – 10:45 Break
10:45 – 12:00 Enterprise Application Modernization and Business Process Modeling
Designing an application with an internal service flow template not only supports flexibility but also facilitates the creation of new
business processes. This means, for example, that a control application could call another application, analyze the results and,
based on those, call any other application all within the control programs unit of work. The ability to enhance IMS applications in this
fashion is called synchronous program switching and is a mechanism for new applications or can be used to extend the value of
transactions that may have been written yesterday or even decades ago.

13:00 – 14:00 Enterprise Systems - Creating the Perfect Cloud
More and more companies recognize that cloud technology can help them achieve business goals, but the widely-held perception
remains that creating a private cloud infrastructure is expensive, time-consuming, complicated and could introduce security risks.
Not true. System z solutions can provide a secure, well-managed, multi-architecture cloud platform where resources are elastic,
workloads can be heterogeneous, service levels are automatically met, and overall costs are dramatically reduced. The example of
am IMS environment shows how integration with z solutions can be used to create the perfect cloud and access newly-defined
resources as well as those that have been part of mission-critical systems for years.
