1.0 IntroductionThe SIRIM Industrial Innovation Model Fund (SIIMF) is open to all SMEs involved in manufacturing.

Participating companies applying for SIIMF should emphasize productivity improvement and business expansion in their application and the project proposed must be capable of showing potential improvement in productivity through technology and innovation.

Applicants must submit their

applications to SIRIM

Berhad. Applicants are

advised to ensure that

submissions have all the

required supporting

documents failing which the

applications will be rejected

and returned.

The documents required are :

1. Application Form (including all attachments);

2. All other documents required in the application checklist

* Please refer to the latest version of the Application Form*

Applicant companies are required to sign a collaboration agreement with

SIRIM Berhad failing which the grant approval may be withdrawn.

4.0 Quantum of Funding

SIRIM will provide funding of up

to 80% of the project value

(maximum to the quantum in the

table) based on the eligibility

criteria. Applicant Companies must

agree to commit the remainder

20% of the project value before

application for funding can be

considered by the Approval

Committee.

The funding, in relation to the proposal project, may be utilized for the

following categories:

i. Design and Fabrication of Machinery and Equipment Productivity improvement related

Extension from existing facilities (not a diversification into unrelated

business)

Intervention from SIRIM/technology providers

Software (as part of total solution)

ii. Purchase of Raw Materials, Accessories, Parts and

Components To be used for product development, prototype, testing,

commissioning and trial production

iii. SME Innovation Consultancy Training and consultancy on innovation

Training and consultancy in technology/technical aspects related to

the project - Expert engagement

Training and consultancy on productivity enhancement

Entrepreneur/ technopreneur development

iv. Prototype Related to product development only (not including certification fee)

Testing and engineering analysis (for product development only)

v. Technology Analysis Techno economic analysis

Technology evaluation and feasibility analysis

Technology valuation

Purchase of complete off-the- shelf

equipment/systems is not allowed

i. Market penetration and expansion Market test/ field test/ market trial/ market acceptance study

Packaging technology

The funding cannot be used for the following:

a. Purchase or rental of capital assets (infrastructure such as building, vehicles and furniture);

b. Premise renovation;c. Collateral or loan for any purpose;d. Marketing / promotional activities

5.0 Notification of Results

The results of applications will be notified by the Secretariat after

approval by SIRIM Industrial Research Vice President.

6.0 Application Submission

Application can be submitted throughout the year. The application

must be made by Applicant Companies to SIRIM- Fraunhofer

Secretariat.

Eligibility criteria are as mentioned in the above table on funding

Criteria.

7.0 Application Form

SIIMF Application Form can be requested from SIRIM-Fraunhofer

Secretariat by contacting us at 03-55446000 (Ext. 6043 / 5082).
