What’s Happening in the Classrooms
Pi Day Extravaganza with 6A & 6G
Students in 6A/6G not only enjoyed eating some pie (thanks to all the parents/guardians who sent in pie, it was delicious!), they took part in lots of activities focusing on Pi: writing in Pilish (it’s a real thing!), writing Pikus (instead of Haikus), word games, approximating pie by tossing frozen hotdogs, and even memorizing as many digits of Pi as possible. Congrats to Kaiden Henshaw for taking the prize in the memorization competition; he was able to list off 126 digits of Pi!!!!!

Ross Creek Centre for the Arts trip
Three grade 7 classes had a trip to experience the “How She Read” exhibit at Ross Creek. This exhibit, by
Chantal Gibson, contained personal items from early Black settlers to Nova Scotia. It gave a glimpse into
how life was, to encourage a better understanding for the future. The students also had the opportunity
to participate in an acting improv class.
The Guitar Club meets every
Thursday at lunch.
The guitar club held a special tribute today
during the ABC Award Assembly. It was fun
having the whole school sing along!
The club is open to anyone wanting to learn to

Kingston’s 60th Steer BBQ & Village Fair
July 12-13, 2019
OUTDOOR MARKET—Seeking Vendors
2019 is an extraordinary year for the Kingston Steer BBQ & Village Fair, being the 60th year of existence. This July 13th our BBQ will be the longest continuous running steer barbeque in North America! Bully for us!!
So to beef up this year’s fair and take it over-the-moon, the Committee is taking the bull by the horns and expanding the Outdoor Market, which began last year. The Outdoor Market is geared to all sorts of ven-dors, like antique dealers, flea market stalls, and all manner of original notions to generate funds for individ-uals, community groups, and clubs. The possibilities are endless. You can think of great stuff for this market until the cows come home!
