` If there is one prerequisite that sets businessapart from other professions, it is the need tocommunicate clearly and concisely bothinternally and externally. Communication is thecore activity of the any profession or business,transmitting information from one person toanother, from one organisation to another or acombination of both and to the shareholders
and other stakeholders of the organisation.

` The function of communication is to ensure thatevery member of the organisation knows what isexpected.

Good communication is critical in ensuringcoordination and control of individuals, groupsand departments.
` Good communication ensures individuals knowwhat is expected of them, that the appropriateperson receives the correct information and thatthere is coordination within the organisation.

procedures and that instructions given to staff by
management are understood. Group and team
cohesiveness is encouraged and stress can bereduced.

communication mistakes that could have been
easily handled by employees. This is not an
uncommon occurrence in the business world.` Some of the top companies that are out there have
great communication. In fact, employers look for the
communication as the top skill when hiring students,
or employees.

` Well, think of it this way. If you cannot
communicate an issue that is happening to your
manager, then he cannot take care of it and the
problem persists. This problem can be minute,or major. Either way, overlooking it and not
voicing a concern can be detrimental to a small
or even a large business.

` Interpersonal communication differs from other

coordination, such as departmental managers orsupervisors meeting regularly or problem solvingthrough departmental members meeting to resolvean issue by sharing ideas with other departments.
It can resolve conflict and interdepartmentalfriction.
