I am on behalf of the management and staff of RHDF, very thankful to you and the

management of ICNA Relief Canada for provision of the funds for Ramadan/Fitra Food

Distribution Project 2013 (1434 A.H). Alhamdulillah, we have completed this project well in

time, few days before Eid-ul-Fitar. We gratefully acknowledge the continuous kind

cooperation and contribution of ICNA Relief Canada for RHDF. We hope for the same

cooperation in future, as well.

We selected the most deserving rural area Farash Town of Islamabad and selected orphan,

poor and deserving 50 families for distribution of food. All beneficiaries are highly obliged to

ICNA Relief and the kind hearted donors for this donation. After successful implementation

of this project, orphan and deserving beneficiaries celebrated Eid-ul-Fitar with joy and

happiness.

At the end, once again we say thanks and Jazakallah to you, the management of ICNA Relief

Canada and the donors for the collaboration with RHDF for the project.

This is the implementation report of the Ramadan Project 2013. Your comments and feedback

3. Introduction of Organization

Rural Health and Development Foundation (RHDF) is a registered NGO working for

betterment of destitute and disaster affected communities. The main focused programs are

emergency and occasional relief, health care, orphans support, livelihood recovery and

enhancement, education and provision of clean drinking water.

RHDF has been working in Punjab, Sind, KP, rural areas of Islamabad and AJK.

4. The Project

4.1. Summary of Project

Project title: Ramadan/Eid Gifts Project 2013

Location: UC Kirpa, Farash Town, rural community of Islamabad

Duration: Short term/seasonal project

Beneficiaries: 300 individuals of 50 families

Budget: Cad$. 2,500 (Rs. 250,000 Approx.)

Funded by: ICNA Relief Canada

Executed by: RHDF

4.2. Project Rationale/Background

Pakistan is a developing country with very low development indicators, more than 37% of people

living below poverty line. In last ten years, many natural and manmade disasters occurred in

Pakistan, like earthquakes, floods, and IDPs issues. Still there is armed conflict in some parts of the

country. Due to all these reasons, country is becoming poorer. Due to disasters and other reasons

many children have become orphans. There is lot of need to support to continue education and

livelihood of the orphan. RHDF, from its inception, working for the betterment of the poor and

ignored segment of the society. RHDF has orphans support program having comprehensive approach

to caring for orphans. Under this program, we support orphans children and make various significant

strides to meet their multiple basic needs such as education, food, health and psychosocial needs as

we believe that orphan children are entitled to be educated, clothed, healthful and confident in the

same as the other fortunate children in the society.

Keeping all above in the view, RHDF identified 50 orphan and families of UC Kirpa, Farash Town,

rural community of Islamabad and provided them Ramadan/Eid gifts/food packages to meet their

occasional needs. After getting food packages, all beneficiary families are very happy and oblige to

ICNA Relief Canada and kind hearted donors for this sympathy and help.

4.3. Achievements of the project

The main objectives of the project were:

Provided Ramadan/Firta food packages to 50 orphans and deserving families of UC

Kirpa, Farash Town, rural community of Islamabad.

Fulfilled the livelihood/food needs of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitar.

Lowered the sufferings of orphans and deserving families on the joyous occasion of

Ramadan and Eid. .

4.4. Implementation Strategy

For distribution of Ramadan/Fitra Food, we selected the rural and ignored area, UC Kirpa,

Farash Town, Islamabad. We identified most deserving orphan and poor families. We

prepared list for smooth and organized distribution. We purchased quality food keeping the

standards of purchasing. We managed a ceremony for distribution of food to selected

beneficiaries. We completed distribution few days before Eid-ul-Firar as per direction of the

officials of ICNA Relief Canada. All beneficiaries are very happy after receiving food items.
