Oh no! There’s enough food for one more meal. The drought and fam- ine have wiped out all the extra food. One last meal and then you and your mother will die. This is exactly what happened to a widow and her son in the book of I Kings chapter 17. Little did they know God wanted to show them why people called Him Je- hovah Jireh. The Hebrews had many titles describing God. Each title started with “Jehovah” which was the name used for God. The word Jireh means “our pro- vider.” The title Jehovah Jireh means “God is our provider.” You can trust God to take care of all your needs. The key is to “trust” Him. The widow is a great exam- ple! The prophet Elijah asked the widow to fix him a meal. She told him she and her son only had enough food for one meal. Elijah asked her to trust God and give him their last meal. The woman trusted God and obeyed. Then came the miracle. Jeho- vah Jireh, the provider, made sure that every time she opened her canister of flour and jar of oil, there was always enough for one more meal. She never had to worry about food again. The Bible says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 NIV) Jehovah Jireh still provides for those who trust Him. It’s great knowing that God is watching out for your family. Trust God and He will keep food on your table, clothes on your back, and a roof over your head. Did you notice how God used the widow to provide for Elijah? Maybe God wants you to help someone. Ask your parents to help you provide food or clothes for someone in your town who needs a little help from Jehovah Jireh. Oh no! There’s enough food for one more meal. The drought and fam-ine have wiped out all

the extra food. One last meal and then you and your mother

will die. This is exactly what happened to a widow and her son in the book of I Kings chapter 17. Little

did they know God wanted to show them why people called Him Je-hovah Jireh. The Hebrews had many titles describing God. Each title started

with “Jehovah” which was the name used for God. The word Jireh means “our pro-vider.” The title Jehovah Jireh means “God is our provider.” You can trust God to take care of all your needs. The key is to “trust” Him. The widow is a great exam-ple!

The prophet Elijah asked the widow to fix him a meal. She told him she and her son only had enough food for one meal. Elijah asked her to trust God and give him their last meal. The woman trusted God and obeyed. Then came the miracle. Jeho-vah Jireh, the provider, made sure that every time she opened her canister of flour and jar of oil, there was always enough for one more meal.

The Bible is full of charac-ters whose names start with the letter “J.” Of course, some of these characters are more fa-mous than others. See how many of them you can find in the puzzle below. If you get stuck, there are some scripture clues below to help you out. Have fun!!! This month’s fun centers around the letter “J.”

Gather up some friends and have a jolly good time!

Jello Jiggle

Have mom help fix 2 large boxes of jello in separate

bowls. Before the jello sets, drop in 5 marbles (or

other small objects). Put bowls in refrigerator and

allow to thicken. Take the bowls outside with a friend.

Take off your shoes and using only your toes see

who can be the first person to squish out all of the

marbles.

Jammin’ Jokes

What kind of car does Mickey Mouse's wife drive?

A minnie van.

Hey Kids, You will want to read this letter, because I have A LOT of great stuff to share with you! VBS - You kids were awesome at VBS. I saw you singing, and laughing, and listening. It was a great week. You won’t want to miss Kids End of Summer Blast Friday, August 19th 1-4 pm CLF. This is for all kids going into 1st grade through 6th grade. Come for a Wacky, Wild, Wet time and bring a Friend! Cost $2

1st Grade Promotion Are you going into 1st Grade? Are you wondering when you finally get to go to Kids church? Well, August 20 and 21st is the big weekend. When you come to church that weekend, you get to sit with your parents in big church and then be dismissed to the hallway where Ms. Ronda and I along with the JLT’s will meet you and officially take you to Impact Church! Woo Hoo!

7th Grade Promotion If you are going into 7th grade, August 13 and 14th will be your last weekend up in Impact Church! BOO HOO! Come that last weekend for a big send off. We will miss you, but we know God has GREAT plans for you as you take your place in the Youth Group. On August 21 you and your parents are invited to join with Pastor Jeff and all the other new 7th graders for an orientation luncheon. You will meet Sunday afternoon, at the [UN]Common Teen Center from 12:15-1:15 for lunch. They will be having sub sandwiches, taking a tour of the Teen Center, and having a question and answer time. This is a great opportunity for you to get acquainted with Pastor Jeff and his team, to get comfortable at the Teen Center, and to learn what to expect this fall! Later that night you are invited to join them for your first [UN]Common youth service, where they will officially welcome you into the [UN]Common family! As I go through my day, I call out your name in prayer. If you have any needs that you would like prayer for, please con-tact me on Face Book and send me a message. Ms. Ronda and I will pray. I will be looking for YOU this weekend in Kid’s Church! Mr. Jim
