Several banquet opportunities will greet atten- dees this year. Learning Through Sports will host a Sportmanship Luncheon on Wednesday for qualified schools and Coaches Outreach will sponsor a breakfast free of charge for attendees on Thursday morning. For those seeking educational opportunities, the National Center for Sports Safety will offer the PREPARE Sport First Aid course free of charge for those who preregister. The Alabama State Department of Education will offer a free School Bus Recertification Clinic on Tuesday for those interested in recertification. Urology Centers of Alabama will once again offer free prostate screening for coaches on Thursday. As always, the Athletic Directors and Principals sessions will be very infor- mative and useful for both the newly hired and the veteran. A session for new principals and athletic directors will be added this year along with a ses- sion on computer updates from the AHSAA. There will be several interactive sessions that will provide each of you the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas on various topics. We will again offer leadership train- ing courses on Tuesday and Thursday along with our Certified Athletic Administrator Exam (CAA) on Thursday. Our committees have secured nationally recognized speakers for clin- ics in nine individual sports. This should be one of our strongest clinics to date. These clinics will provide a special opportunity for you to increase your knowledge and share ideas with your peers. Our Expo will once again feature numerous nation-wide vendors to allow you to see the latest in products related to your sport. As you can see, a lot will be going on this summer. You deserve the best for what you do for the student athletes of our state and we hope that you will join us for these exciting events. AHSADCA OFFICERS

RULES CLINICS MANDATORY FOR HEAD COACHESAll head coaches must attend a rules clinic in their sports prior to thebeginning of their sports’ seasons. This mandatory clinic is required ofall head coaches in football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball,wrestling, track & field, and soccer. Coaches will not be required to takean exam but must register with a photo ID in order to record their atten-dance. A school will be fined $300 for each head coach that does notmeet this requirement. Coaches may attend one of the rules clinics atvarious state sites. The rules clinics are included in the activities of theAll-Star Sports Week and the schedule is provided at the right. You mustregister for coaching school to attend the rules clinics.
