THE ROUTES OF ASYLUM SEEKERS TO FINLAND Most of the asylum seekers arrive in Finland via Tornio, Lapland, which shares an open border with Haaparanta in Sweden. Still in last spring most of them arrived through the ports of Helsinki and Turku, which were the main points of entry.
a new railway connection from Southern Sweden to Luleå in Northern Sweden has been opened, which may make it easier for the asylum seekers to come to Finland.
