Message fromRev. Skariah Thomas

Greetings to all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I am very happy to write my first message through the Immanuel Doothan. As per the decision of the Malankara Marthoma Syrian Church and the Episcopal Synod of the Marthoma Church, I joined here as the Asst. Vicar on 2nd May 2018. The Vicar and family, the executive committee members and the parishioners extended a warm welcome to us. We thank all the support and prayers rendered by the Marthoma Church, Doha.

I am very much overwhelmed by the Lord’s mercies and grace we received as a family during the eleven years we have been in the ministry of the Marthoma Church. I thank God for all my well- wishers who prayed for us over the years and praise God for the overflowing blessings He showered upon us so generously.

God is good all the time. There may be times when we cannot experience his goodness right away, but He

always brings in the best for us at the right time. I feel privileged to be a part of Doha Immanuel Marthoma Church. When we go through the history of the Parish, we can realize ‘How great is our God’ and how “He has made everything beautiful in his time”.

In Paul says that “Instead in every way more and more like Christ, who’s the head of his body, which means the Church growing Together in the Missions of Christ”.

The Church is the living body of Christ. By its very nature and mission it is a ‘Koinonia’ (Communion) of sharing and healing. As we share in Christ’s broken body, we become bread for the world to the broken. This implies Cross, Kenosis (self- emptying) discipleship and sacrifice in diaconal (service) work for social justice and human dignity.

Above everything, allow the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us in every step we take. Therefore, come to the Church with a prayerful attitude. If we come with a prayerful heart, God will speak to us in ways we never imagined before. He will touch and change your life forever. Before I wind off once again I express my happiness and joy to be here in your midst as a family. We are here to serve you any time and in any need. In God’s love let’s stay united and lift the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
