WINTER WEATHER POLICIES With winter weather soon to be upon us, it’s important to know if the parish is open or closed. If Winchendon schools are closed, all parish activities are cancelled. This means that Holy Mass, religious education classes, adult faith formation sessions, meetings etc., are also cancelled and the parish office is closed. If there is a delay in the opening of school, Holy Mass will still be celebrated, but please use your best judgement in traveling to the parish. This policy applies to snow storms that happen during the week. Weekend Masses are typically not cancelled. In the even of a weekday snowstorm and Mass is cancelled, the intention for that day will be transferred to the next time Holy Mass is celebrated.

SONGS OF THANKFULNESS AND PRAISE Sunday, November 20 at 2:00 PM, St. Boniface Church, Lunenburg will host a music festival. Traditional, folk, children’s and ethnic Catholic Church choirs will join to offer songs of praise and thanks. This one hour program will celebrate Christ the King of the Universe and the ending of the “Year of Mercy” Refreshments and fellowship to follow in the Church hall. Contact Claire at 617-823-4237 for more information.

AN EVENING FOR EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION

Fr. Michael will lead a meeting of all extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion on Tuesday evening, November 22 at 7:00 PM in the Church. This will be an opportunity for all extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion to reflect on the ministry in Church and to the homebound as well as to review the “particulars” of this ministry. It is important that all of our parishioners participating in this ministry be in attendance. Those considering this ministry are invited to attend as well. While attendance at this meeting does not infer that you must become an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, the information shared will give you a greater sense if God is calling you to this service. Remember that the requirements for serving in this ministry is that the person is a fully initiated Catholic (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist), participating in the life of the community, at least 17 years of age, and not prevented by law from receiving the Eucharist. For more information, please speak with Fr. Michael.

MASS FOR THANKSGIVING DAY

As we as a nation pause to give thanks to God for His many blessings, join us for Mass on Thanksgiving Eve, November 23 at 7:00 PM or Thanksgiving Day at 8:00 AM to give thanks to God with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. A special collection will be taken up for our Saint Vincent de Paul Society in their continued outreach to those in need in our community. SOLEMN SUNDAY VESPERS FOR ADVENT On the four Sundays of Advent (November 27, December 4, 11 & 18) beginning at 3:30 PM with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and confessions. Vespers begin at 4:30 PM and end with Benediction. This ancient prayer of the Church is composed of the Psalms reminding us of the meaning of this season as we prepare to welcome the Christ Child, once again into our homes and hearts.
