School News The final numbers are in for the 2014 Immaculate Conception School BBQ. Our total income for the BBQ was $25,762.50. We met our goal! Thanks once again to all who helped make the day successful! The winner of the $1,000.00 raffle grand prize is Monica Gomez. Don’t forget your contribution to the Diocese’s Catholic Tuition Support Organization! All Arizonans pay AZ state taxes; a great benefit to residents of our state is that an individual may elect to divert up to $2006.00/filing married or

$1003.00/filing single to support tuition for students in private/parochial schools. Individual schools may be designated; however, specific “student” designation is not allowed. CTSO assistance is determined by a family’s need. Payments to CTSO must be made by December 31, 2014. Brochures are available at the back of the Church. Today is All Souls Day, the day we remember and pray for the souls of our loved ones who have gone before us. The Year of the School begins in 2015! Immaculate Conception School is gathering photos and school memorabilia from alumni. Please scan and email or drop by the school office so we can make a copy of your original photos. We would like to build decade scrapbooks dating back to the opening of Immaculate Conception School by the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity in 1930! PARISH BOARD OF DIRECTOR ELECTION The term of our current lay member to the Parish Board of Directors, Stephen Irr, expires in January 2015. Fr. Javier Perez has nominated Stephen Irr for the approaching term. In addition to Father’s nomination, registered members of the Parish may submit names for this position by obtaining a total of 10 registered member’s signatures and turning them in to the Parish office. Nomination forms are available in the Parish office. For more information about the position and the eligibility requirements, please contact the Parish office at (928) 782-7516. Nominations will close on December 7, 2014. If more nominations are submitted, a Parish election will be held on the weekend of December 13 and 14, 2014.

The removal of the lower center sections of the bottom windows in the main church is under consideration. Because of breakage and disintegration of the paint on some of the windows, a safety hazard exists. If you or a family member purchased one of these sections, please contact Kathy at 580-7948 for more information.

Hello 8:30 Sunday Mass Friends! I know that many of you have wondered what has happened to the choir. The choir has become much smaller due to may factors - health, death, members moving out of town, and the like. Currently, after serving our Parish as the organist and choir director for the 8:30 a.m. Mass since 1977 - that’s 37 years, I am having some serious health problems which are hindering my ability to walk. Presently, I’m waiting for an appointment with a specialist and am hoping that he will be able to find some answers for my pain and discomfort. Would you please be so kind as to say some prayers asking the Lord to send good doctors to my assistance so that, as soon as possible the choir and I will be back singing and praising Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during the celebration of the holy Eucharist. ELECCIONES PARA LA MESA DIRECTIVA PARROQUIAL

El plazo del actual miembro laico de la Mesa Directiva Parroquial termina en Enero del 2015. Padre Javier ha nominado a Stephen Irr para el siguiente término. Además de la nominación del Padre Javier, los miembros registrados de la Parroquia pueden hacer una nominación consiguiendo 10 firmas de miembros registrados de la parroquia y entregándolas a la oficina parroquial. DIAMOND CELEBRATION As you know, each calendar year from now through 2016 will emphasize a different aspect of our Parish. Last year was dedicated to the Mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe; the various groups that were a part of the fabric of Our Lady of Guadalupe were emphasized. This year is dedicated to the Franciscan Sisters. The year started on January 12 with a Mass and reception. The history of the Sisters at I.C. was presented. Additional events are listed below. The total amount of pledges to date is $264,125.10. We encourage our parishioners to support this campaign in order to raise the necessary funds to continue this program through 2016. If you haven't

made a pledge, please consider a sacrificial gift of at least $600 per family over a three-year term. There will be envelopes available at each of the church exits. Dearest Parishioners: The Pilkington Commercial Company has notified the church that the total cost for the restroom restoration will be $51,206.00. They are donating, with a combined effort of several other companies, a total of $14,821.00 towards the total cost. While we were all hoping that more companies and contractors would join in the effort to donate and accomplish this project, only a few have donated. Therefore, Immaculate Conception needs to pay the remaining amount of $36,385.00. The Pilkington Company is willing to work with our parish family and has provided us with an itemized list of expenses that can still be donated. We are looking for parishioners that would be willing to donate materials and services to complete this project. If you, or anyone you know would be willing to make a contribution, please contact Kathy Ahuactzin (928)580-7948.
