    Easter Message 2018

“...Then Simon Peter came, following him and went into the tomb; he saw the linen clothes lying and the napkin,...Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in and he saw and believed for as yet they did not know the scripture, that he must rise from the dead”. He is risen! With songs of joy, the Alleluia returns to our lips. Let us rejoice and let us be attentive, watching and waiting for the ways and faces through which Jesus will reveal himself to us, in his risen glory. As we celebrate the glorious feast of Christ’s resurrection let us thank God once more for Easter and for all that it means for us. May this Easter message of joy find expression in our life, may it raise us above our selfishness, may we who are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ be transformed like Christ who was, who is and who is to come. Sincerely, Fr. Bogie

THE WEEK OF April 1, 2018 The paschal candle stands in the sanctuary during the entire Easter

Season. The candle symbolizes the risen Christ who conquers sin and death and,

for that reason, is blessed during the opening rites of the Easter Vigil. It is

marked with a Cross, Alpha and Omega, and the numerals of the year. Five grains

of incense, representing the wounds of Christ, are embedded into the wax.

Thank You to The Friend Family for the donation of the Paschal Candle

Chaplet of Divine Mercy & Benediction On February 22, 1931, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ appeared to a simple nun in a convent of the congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Krakow, Poland. In response to our Lord’s request to St. Faustina, the Holy Father instituted the Divine Mercy as a universal feast to be celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. Good Friday is the first day of the Novena to the Divine Mercy. The Chaplet is prayed for a specific intention each day. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
