My dear sisters and brothers,

Last week, I baptized a baby and encouraged the parents during the homily, to give good witness to the child as he grows so that he will know how to be a good Catholic Christian. I also challenged the Godparents to monitor the parents and advise them when they are not giving good witness to their child. Sometimes we might become complacent or stubborn when we want life to be a certain way and it doesn’t go our way. We forget that we live life to be consistent with the dictates of the Lord. While visiting family, I sometimes meet opposition to the theological points that I try to help my relatives understand. It seems, I preach a way of life that is too difficult, or takes too much work to achieve. What I preach is more than what they want to commit. They sometimes tell me I am wrong and my words are not accepted. My proclamation doesn’t fit with their political or financial views. Imagine that! It certainly seems like the saying that … a prophet is accepted everywhere except in his own house. We must all try to give good example of how to live out the teachings of our savior, Jesus Christ. Live a life of forgiveness, loving encouragement and penitence. That is our call to carry the cross with Christ. Be Bold! Be Courageous! Be Catholic! In Christ’s love, Fr Tim Wrozek
