Imagine a NEW library in Woodland!
Let’s Make It Happen!
Why Woodland Needs a New Library
At a venerable 106 years old and a mere 2400 square feet, the current library can no longer meet the needs of a growing Woodland.
Its wiring can’t be expanded for today’s technology.
It can’t support an elevator to make the second floor accessible to everyone.
At 2400 square feet, our current library has . . .
• No room for additional computers
• No room for dedicated children’s or teen’s space
• No study rooms• No meeting rooms• No room for adult classes
and programs• No room for ESL classes
• No room for small business or entrepreneur collections
• No room for Spanish collections
• Not even room to sit and relax with a good book
And we simply cannot wait any longer. Delays will only lead to further degeneration of the current building and quite possibly, to unsafe conditions.

4 MILLIONHow Much Will a New Library Cost?
So far, Friends of Woodland Library and Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation have acquired over $1M toward our goal of $4M.
National average return on investment in libraries: Every $1.00 invested results in $4.40 worth of programs for the community.
Worth Every Penny!
Is It Worth It?
Our umbrella organization, Fort Vancouver Regional Library Foundation, is a 501 C(3) nonprofit, so all donations are tax deductible!
Where Will It Be?Both the city of Woodland and local businessman Benno Dobbe have donated land for building. Thanks to their generosity, the cost of a new library has been reduced by millions of dollars.
The district is currently vetting the lots to determine which is most feasible. As soon as the district makes their decision, we will announce the new location!
