Picturesque landscapes that inspiremany a fantasy and fabulous placeswhich tell their particularly own story – this
is where your fairy dreams come true. And
marvellous are the impressions that await
you when you tour the German Fairy Tale
Route.
From the Main River to the North Sea, one
of Germany’s oldest holiday routes stretches
over 600 kilometers unfolding the splendor
of myths and legends. Your journey will lead
you through enchanting woods to the banks
of rivers and streams, through the narrow
alleys between timber framed houses way up
to noble mansion houses and fortified castles.
Whether you follow wild trails or walk on
cobble stone, go by bicycle or by car, your
destination is always the same: the door to a
world where your wishes come true.
… so he stayed a few days andin the meantime he exploredall of the nature of the fairy wood.

Brothers Grimm Their Lives‘ Journey And Their
Worldwide Impact
They count among the most important heads of Eu-
ropean cultural history. Their Children and Household
Tales, listed among the UNESCO Memory of the World
Register, celebrate their bicentennial from 2012 to
2015.
Taking part in the political turnaround in Germany
themselves, the two studied jurists’ passion was the
German language. With their collection of fairy tales
they set up a poetic basis which has endured untiltoday.
One more reason to follow the track of these two
pioneers of German studies – and hence follow the
German Fairy Tale Route, where a multitude of unfor-
gettable events awaits you.
The Brothers Grimm went from Hanau via Steinau and
Marburg to Kassel, where they spent the „most labo-
rious but also the most productive time of their lives“.
Göttingen and Berlin count among the important
places in their lives, too.
„History never repeats itself, but is always new and
fresh, constantly reborn is the legend“ – Jacob Grimm
and his brother Wilhelm are so right.
