What is illiterate?!

through the prisM of our coMMunity MeMber’s individualinterpretations, illiterate unravels, reveals, prods and tickles the ever changing context that shapes our reality. These interpretations come in the form of reader generated art, photography, poetry, fiction, articles and comics submitted toilliteratemagazine.com. Using an evolutionary editorial model, at illiterate we invite our young, fiercely hip audience to do what they do best— judge the shit out of each other. Voting on each other’s reader generated submissions, readers actively participate in the editorial process. Though our staff enjoys blurring distinctions between us and them, consumer and contributor, we aren’t complete egalitarian hippies either. Our editors are the last line of defense against mob rule. In order to ensure quality content as well as their permanent air of superiority, illiterate editors use reader voting to influence their final selections for publication in the printed magazine.
