CHAPTER 1
• Everything pertaining to life and godliness (1:3)
• Precious and magnificent promises (1:4)
• Partakers of the divine nature (1:4)
• Having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust (1:4)
DILIGENTLY GROW IN:
• Faith• Moral Excellence• Knowledge• Self-Control• Perseverance• Godliness• Brotherly Kindness• Love
CHAPTER 1
• Useful and fruitful (1:8)• Make certain about His calling
and choosing you (1:10)• You will never stumble (1:10)• Entrance into the eternal
kingdom… abundantly supplied to you (1:11)
THE FATE OF THE FALSE PROPHETS
• Swift destruction on themselves (2:1)• Their judgment from long ago is not
idle and their destruction is not asleep (2:3)
• Keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment (2:9)
• Will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed (2:12)

• Suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong (2:13)
• Black darkness has been reserved (2:17)
• Their last state is worse than the first (2:20)
• Would have been better for them to have never known the way of righteousness (2:21)

• Secretly introduce destructive heresies (2:1)
• Denying the master who bought them (2:1)
• Greedy (2:3)• Exploit you with false words (2:3)• Indulge the flesh in its corrupt
desires (2:10)• Despise authority (2:10)
WHAT THE FALSE PROPHETS WILL DO
• Daring (2:10)• Self-willed (2:10)• They do not tremble when they revile
angelic majesties (2:10)• Are like unreasoning animals (2:12)• Reviling where they have no knowledge
(2:12)• Count it a pleasure to revel in the
daytime (2:13)
WHAT THE FALSE PROPHETS WILL DO
• Stains and blemishes (2:13)• Reveling in their deceptions (2:13)• Carouse with you (2:13)• Eyes full of adultery (2:14)• Never cease from sin (2:14)• Enticing unstable souls (2:14)• Heart trained in greed (2:14)• Accursed children (2:14)
WHAT THE FALSE PROPHETS WILL DO
• Forsaking the right way (2:15)• Gone astray (2:15)• Followed the way of Balaam (2:15)• Springs without water (2:17)• Mists driven by the storm (2:17)• Speaking out arrogant words of
vanity (2:18)
WHAT THE FALSE PROPHETS WILL DO
• Entice by fleshly desires (2:18)• Entice by sensuality those who barely
escape from the ones who live in error (2:18)
• Promising freedom (2:19)• Are slaves of corruption (2:19)• They had escaped the defilement of the
world by knowledge of the Lord (2:20)• They are again entangled in them and
are overcome (2:20)
LIVING IN VIEW OF THE JUDGMENT
• Remember the words spoken and the commandments (1-2)
• Know that there will be mockers that doubt (3)
• Present heavens and earth are reserved for fire; judgment and destruction (7)
LIVING IN VIEW OF THE JUDGMENT
• Remember God's patience and purpose (8-9)
• Remember the certainty… the day of the Lord will come (10) and uncertainty… “like a thief”
• Heavens, elements, earth, its works pass away, destroyed and burned up (10)
WHAT SORT OF PEOPLE OUGHT YOU TO BE?
• Since wickedness will be punished? (II Peter 3:7,9,11,14)
• Since the world and its works will be destroyed? (II Peter 3:7,10,12-13,17-18)
