1ANNUAL REPORT 2014 NETWORK INDONESIA
Dear IGCN Members,
Igcn developed more collaborative actions, expanded scope of audience, increased the scale of works and became more
prominent nationally and globally. Those milestones had through with the pro-active supports of IGCN Members. Therefore, I would like to express my sincere gratitude
for your supports to IGCN activities and your commitment to implement the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles.
Last year, IGCN in conjunction with UN Global Compact Office launched new initiative “Business for Peace” (B4P) in Indonesia. The launching was held on 27 February 2014 in Markplus Main Campus, Jakarta. To date, 21 companies joined the initiative.
IGCN has been appointed by President’s Delivery Unit for Development Monitoring and Oversight (UKP4) as the Official Partner to coordinate Private Sector Leaders Roundtable at the breakout sessions of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Asia Pacific Regional Conference on 6 May 2014 at Nusa Dua, Bali. This roundtable also aligns with the previous roundtable on 19 March 2014, when IGCN in collaboration with Transparency International Indonesia (TII) organized the "Private Sector Leaders Roundtable: Implementation of the Principle 10th of the UN Global Compact – Embody Integrity & Sustainable Business". And as the follow on
action, we developed the Open Government Working Group to catalyze the idea and the recommendation on Open Government Partnership.
We organized the Business and Human Rights Training Course in partnership with twentyfifty Ltd. on 21-24 January 2014. The training was based on the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) which provide an authoritative and legitimate framework for Global Compact participants in implementing the first two Global Compact Principles. Furthermore, IGCN in partnership with ELSAM (Institute for Policy Research and Advocacy) translated a publication by Global Compact Network Netherland titled “How to Do Business in Respecting Human Rights” into Indonesian language and launched it on 25 June 2014.
In collaboration with UNAOC and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Indonesia, IGCN convened a half-day Private Sector Leaders Roundtable on “The Role of Business in Promoting Inter-Cultural and Inter-Religious Peace and Harmony”. This event is part of the Sixth Global Forum of UN Alliance of Civilization in Nusa Dua, Bali. We had an honor to welcome UN Secretary General, H.E. Ban Ki-moon, who delivered closing remarks.
Starting September, IGCN embarked in an ambitious humanitarian collaborative project – helping the poor families in obtaining their individual status as citizen through mass wedding program. Target 5000 family couple to be completed early 2015.

THE GLOBAL COMPACT MANAGEMENT MODELThe “UN Global Compact Management Model” guides companies through the process of formally committing to, assessing, defining, implementing, measuring, and communicating a corporate sustainability strategy based on the Global Compact and its
principles. It is a simple, yet broad and flexible, model to guide companies of all sizes through the process of organizational change to embrace corporate sustainability. Produced in collaboration with Deloitte and a range of corporate sustainability and management experts, the model is particularly helpful for those just entering the sustainability realm, but also offers guidance on Leadership Practices for more experienced companies.

Children’s Rights and Business Principles (CRBP) was formally introduced and released in Indonesia at 13th February 2013 as a joint work of consortium of IGCN, UNICEF, and Save the Children. The initiative is supported by Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection.
As a follow up action of the national inauguration of the CRBP in Indonesia, the Consortium conducted a mapping of how businesses in Jakarta and Bandung, especially in retail and hospitality sector, take children’s rights into consideration and to what extent they are reflected in their policies and practices. This mapping will form the basic for the planning of future programs and strategies to promote the implementation of the business principles in Indonesia.
To validate data, we have conducted consultative seminars in Jakarta and Bandung, which attended by Ministry of Women Empowerment
