SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY

This feast is one of the foundational doctrines of our Catholic faith that teaches about the existence of

One God with Three Distinct Persons. It teaches us of the creative, saving and sanctifying actions of

God as three distinct persons. The Father is described as God in Philippians (1:2), Jesus as God in Titus

(2:13) and Holy Spirit as God also in Acts (5:3-4) God the Father sent the Son into the world (Jn 3:16)

and in the same manner the Holy Spirit was sent into the world (Jn. 14:26, Acts 2:) God is equal,

indivisible and immutable. The Oneness and Unity of the three persons in one God challenges us to

work for unity of purpose in life. We only talk about the distinction by virtue of functions or

operations as person, God the Father created, God the Son redeemed and God the Holy Spirit

sanctifies. Thus, we say, ''the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the

Holy Spirit.." (2Cor 13: 13) We express our belief when we say: Credo in unum Deum, Patrem

Omnipotentem, factorem caeli et terrae, visibilium omni et invisibilium...
