- Management drivers which are built into the windows kernel.

- Queries though C# to obtain system information .- Preinstalled on all windows machines from Windows 2000, but back installable for other pre-xp systems

• SOAP for communication - Required a robust way of the transmission of computer

status data between the client and the MYSQL database. A SOAP based web service allowed us to have full control over how that data was dealt with.

- Decided to use nuSOAP, a PHP based soap provider script which allowed native communication between two different programming languages.

From an average machine submitting RAM data every 3 minutes, would call our web service4320 times a day.

•App was created, to enable users system information to become mobile. •For compatibility decided to use web app instead of native applications. Allowing our software to be available to a wider range of users.

Uptime monitoring by use of Cron scripts.
