The first car appeared on British roads in 1888. By the year 2000 there may be as many 29 million vehicles on British roads. Alternative forms of transport should be encouraged and international laws introduced to control car ownership and use. To what extent do you agree or disagree?The automobile industry had significantly prospered throughout the twentieth century than it had in the nineteenth century. This had increased the number of vehicles on the roads and the world became crowded with them. There is no doubt that looking for new and safe methods of transportation as well as introducing international regulations to car industries must be applied. This paper will discuss new means of transportation and why the automobile industry must be ruled by worldwide regulations.During the last century, especially the last four decades, there was a significant increase in the number of vehicles. And because of this, the accidents and death rates increased remarkably. Therefore, an urgent request to find new and safe way of transportation is critical. For instance, the public transportation should be improved and maintained by governments, at the same time encourage the people to use it. This will automatically lead to reduce the number of cars and decrease the accidents and the death rate in our community, as well. So it is important to find new approaches to decrease the number of vehicles. In addition, the highest amount of carbon dioxide emissions in our world are due to vehicles and this carried a great threaten to the ecosystem. Consequently, there must be international policies to control such problems and take a step forward. For example: impose strict regulations on manufacturers of cars, how many vehicle they should manufactured a year, introducing new system to the cars to become more eco-friendly, and limit the number of cars that can one own would not only decrease the pollution to our atmosphere but also reduce energy consumption.Overall, the world had dramatically changed in the last era in many fields. These changes should involve the transportation system.
