IELTS Online Registration & Payment System

Guidelines and Procedure for IELTS Applicants 1. Registration (Step 1 to Step 10)

STEP 1 Visit

www.ieltsbooking.idp.com/hongkong You must select “ACADEMIC” for Test Module “January” for the Month before clicking “Search” button.

STEP 2 Please select “2012/01/07 test session –

Special session for College of Business,

CityU (Student Exchange Programme)” and click on “Register” for processing the IELTS registration on this specific session.

STEP 3 Read carefully all the information about the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance on the page. Please note that the registration process is only continued by agreeing and accepting the terms.

Important information:

• You are required to complete your payment transaction within 45 minutes

• The application will only be processed with all the necessary items

• Places are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis

• Candidates taking the test outside their own country must present a current passport

• You must bring the exact ID document registered to the test day for admission

• *refer to the IELTS Photo Requirement for details

STEP 5 Check your selected test date and module and continue the registration process by filling all required information: 1) Personal Details 2) Contact Information 3) Others Make sure you complete all required fields with correct and up-to-date information

Create your web account for new candidate: 1) Enter your HKID/passport number as the

login name 2) Set your password and answer the

password hint question OR

If you have already registered, please log in directly at the top right corner of the webpage.

STEP 4 Read the registration instructions on this page. You must have the following items available for registration: 1) A valid HKID/passport number 2) a copy of your previous IELTS test

report (if applicable) 3) Soft copy (JPG file) of your recent

passport sized photo* 4) PPS login and password for the payment

or credit card details

Enter your personal details, including your name, address, email address, date of birth and where you are from. Make sure the information is correct and

up-to-date.

If you request for additional Test Report Form, please provide details of the receiving organisation. Candidates may request up to five additional copies sent to institutions/government agencies/professional bodies/employers. Please note the Test Report Form will not be sent to migration or education agents. (Please note that College of Business, CityU, does not accept any IELTS report by post. You are advised to upload the IELTS report in the CB online application system before 31 January 2012)

If candidates have taken IELTS in the last 2 years, please upload your latest IELTS Test Report Form. However it is not applicable for those candidates who do not have the

Test Report Form or the result is expired.

STEP 6 You must read and understand the Declaration for the IELTS policies and regulations. Click on the “Confirm and Submit” button for proceeding to the next stage of uploading photo. You will now see a test confirmation window, which displays your selected test date and personal details. After reviewing the details, click “OK” for confirmation.

STEP 7 You have to upload the passport sized photo. It is important that you must need to provide the photo up to the requirements (e.g. without glasses, mouth closed, etc). Click “Online Payment” for continuing the process.

STEP 8 The full test fee of HK$1500 must be paid at the time of booking. It is paid by either online PPS or credit card. You must have your PPS account and password / credit card details ready for the registration. Click the PPS / Mastercard / Visa logo.

You will see a page, which displays all important notice for online payment. Please ready carefully and click “Agree” for making payment.

You will go to the webpage under Standard Chartered / PPS according to your payment method. Please follow the instructions.

The process will take less than 1 minute. Please be patent and do not close any window while the payment is processing. You will be notified when the test fee is paid successfully.

STEP 9 The registration process is completed and you can click the link back to the front page. The final confirmation page lists your application number and it is recommended you mark down this number for reference.

STEP 10 Once you have completed the registration and payment has been received, you will receive an email confirmation. This email will also contain details on your selected test date, payment date and amounts. Your application will be verified and normally it will take 3-4 working days.

Once your information is correct and photo is up to standard, an email will be sent to you for confirmation which you can access to the system by entering your login and password to download the Confirmation of Registration.
