TU Vienna is among the most success ul technicaluniversities in Europe and is Austrias largest scientifc-technicalresearch and educational institution.

The IEA Bioenergy Con erence 2012 will provide tostakeholder s in R & D, industry an d policy an insightinto the recent research and market developmentsin bioenergy. The con erence includes all topicsdealt with by IEA Bioenergy as well as by partnerorganizations like FAO, GBEP and UNDP.

Presentations will address all stages in bioenergysystems: rom growth o biomass, to conversionto energy carriers and, to use or energy services.Cross cutting topics like sustainability (GHGemissions), socio-economy and trade will also bediscussed. Policy makers will beneft rom the latestconclusions on policy recommendations based on aglobal scientifc energy technology network.

Participants will be presented the latestin ormation on promising bioenergy technologiesin the stimulating and enjoyable surroundings othe Vienna University o Technology. A pleasantsocial programme also provides opportunities orrelaxation and networking.

IEA Bioenergy is an organization set up in 1978by the International Energy Agency (IEA) as oneo the frst Implementing Agreements aiming toimprove cooperation and in ormation exchangebetween countries that have national programmesin bioenergy research. 23 countries plus theEuropean Commission are currently participating.IEA Bioenergys vision is to achieve a substantialbioenergy contribution to uture global energy

supply by accelerating the production and use oenvironmentally sound, socially accepted and cost-competitive bioenergy.

IEA Bioenergy is a unique organisation able todemonstrate the most recent and best state o theart o bioenergy and the uture development othe technologies. IEA Bioenergy is a per ect linkbetween RD & D, deployment and national politics.
