• Students willing to do research at an
undergraduate level do not have
access to any way of funding.
• Student entrepreneurs do not have
acces to any form of funding to stablish
their own business.
• The prestige of my universtity was at
stake, no funding means no innovation
and no entreprenourship, which means
no recognition.

With the help of the student
government (Gobe), I
developed a plan to fund
students ideas. The plan is
called Gobe-Grants and it
consists of two types of
financial aid.

Types of Gobe-Grant

1. Research Gobe-Grant: Focused to help
students that want to do research, participate
in an academic competion.
1. Nonreimbursable.
2. Three application windows throughout the
semester.
2. Entreprenourship Loan: Loan granted by
Gobe with the purpose of helping student
entreprenours to establish their own business.
1. Reimbursable.
2. Interest of 5%
3. Payable at the end of each semester.

Grants.
• The number of applicants has
increased considerably since
its instauration in November
2014.
• Applicants from all University’s
departments, including faculty
and University clubs.

• Over the lapsus of four months, 12 research
Gobe-Grants were granted.
• The Grants were destined to community
projects, research (engineering, economics,
law), academic competition.
• Groups that recieved the Gobe-Grants went
on to win academic competitions and
research awards at a national as well as at
an international level.

• A total of 17 applications to recieve a loan to
start a business.
• Last semester every loan was fully
reimbursed, making a profit for the student
government to which the Gobe-Grants
program belongs.
