What are the Sections and what does that mean to me?
Our profession crosses a wide array of markets, skillsets, areas of expertise andinterests. The Professional Interest Sections represent those communities andnetworks bound by a common interest or area of work. The Sections addresseach of :
: Creating a vital and expanding local and global design network andcommunity is critical in the industrial design profession and the Sections offer youaccess to that network.
Facilitating design quality through professional development andeducation assures the future of our profession and the Sections work witheducators and students to develop new curricula for our students while providingcontinuing education to our professionals.
Sections play a key role in the collection and dissemination ofinformation most relevant to the design profession and specific to that Section'sarea of interest.
By acting as “ambassadors” for the industrial design profession, theSections promote the benefits, awareness and value of industrial design inbusiness and society.
I encourage you to take a look at the Sections to see if there's something thatmight interest you. If so, please consider getting involved. The Sections are afantastic way to immerse yourself in your area of interest or expertise, expandyour network and further your career.
