The American Membrane Technology Association (AMTA) is the nation’s leading authority on membrane technology and application. With over 1,600 membrane plants installed throughout the United States, AMTA has led the way in providing technical workshops, conferences, and networking opportunities to ensure manufacturers, operators, and owners have the information they need to maximize their system productivity. Our members are a critical part of that effort and AMTA awards their commitment with unique benefits including: • Professionally authored technical Fact Sheets • Access to AMTA’s complete member list • AMTA’s quarterly newsletter—Solutions—which includes regulatory updates • Access to compelling interviews with the pioneers of our industry • Discounted registration fees at the national Membrane Technology Conference (MTC), regional workshops, and all of the nationwide events hosted by AMTA’s four affiliates. The 2014 AMTA Technology Transfer Workshops schedule is outlined below and we encourage you to visit our website for more detailed information at www.amtaorg.com

General Information

Conference ProceedingsProceedings for the 2014 Membrane Technology Conference & Exposition are provided on a flash drive at the conference and are included as part of the full-conference and one-day registrations.

Continuing Education Credit Information

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)AWWA and AMTA are pleased to offer attendees CEUs. To be awarded a CEU Certificate of Completion, please use the complimentary Attendee Time & Attendance CEU Record available in the back of each technical session room. Please pick up a Record prior to attending training, as you will need to provide it to room monitors at the conclusion of each training session for validation of your time. CEUs are available for sessions, workshops, and tours. Please read all of the instructions on the Record.

Professional Development Hours (PDHs) AWWA and AMTA are pleased to provide a complimentary Attendee Time & Attendance PDH Record available at the back of each technical session room. Please pick up a Record prior to attending a training sessions for validation of your time and read all of the instructions on the Record. Only use the Record if your state will accept manual documentation. If you need Certificates of Completion, please follow the instructions under (CEUs). Certificates are not provided for PDHs, as states can convert CEUs into PDHs (.1 CEU = 1 PDH).Questions? Contact the AWWA Continuing Education and Training Coordinator, Leah Bang, at [email protected].

Exhibit Hall Showcasing the latest in membrane technology and services, the 2014 exposition is located in the Events Center of the Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel. Enjoy dedicated exhibit hours, poster sessions, “Experts in the Round,” Tuesday luncheon, refreshment breaks and networking receptions—all taking place inside the exhibit hall! The exposition is open Monday evening through Thursday at noon, giving you plenty of time to meet with manufacturers’ representatives, see application demonstrations, and get answers to your questions about membrane products, performance, and applications.

“Experts in the Round”NEW! Fifteen experts will lead discussions on the top issues in the membrane industry. This roundtable format will encompass topics such as Forward Osmosis When to Clean a Membrane and When to Replace. There will be three 15-minute rounds, with participants selecting their table and topic of choice each round. Following the expert’s introduction of a topic, there will be a lively discourse. This informal event will be held in the banquet area of the exhibit hall during Tuesday’s evening reception. Come early to get a seat at your top selections, as there will only be 10 chairs at each table.

Facility ToursSpace is limited for Friday’s facility tours so inquire at registration to see if tickets are still available. A separate ticket fee is required. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license or passport with you on all tours and note that you may be required to sign a waiver once aboard the bus. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required. High heels, skirts, and shorts are prohibited.

Networking ReceptionsGreet friends and make new contacts at three receptions for all registered attendees and guests, taking place inside the exhibit hall. The receptions are a great place to network with other membrane technology professionals in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Page 17: Ideal for desalination & water reuse plants Membrane · March 10–14, 2014 Bally’s Las Vegas Las Vegas, Nevada 700 Emlen Way, Telford, PA 18969 Phone: +1 215-723-8155 Fax: +1 215-723-2197

Track 3: Wastewater and IndustrialMembranes are being used in wastewater applications for municipal and industrial facilities. System modifications and operational improvements are bringing this area of membrane filtration to new levels, allowing for more advanced treatment of wastewater and expansion of water reuse.

Track 4: Regional Issues, New Innovations, Research, and MiscellaneousMembranes are applied to a variety of challenging water problems and enable state-of-the-art technologies to meet these challenges with water treatment and related issues. Forward osmosis, advanced pre-treatment, nanocomposite membranes, and residuals disposal are some of the areas in which new ideas are unfolding.

Young Professional/Student Luncheon “Meet Up”

Sponsored by International Desalination AssociationDuring the exhibit hall luncheon on Tuesday, March 11th, we invite all young professionals and students to sit together in a reserved area. We will have tables reserved (by signs). Water Industry Leaders will join each table to facilitate discussions; answer questions about the water industry community; and, most important, advise on how to make connections with potential employers. No additional registration required, come to the specially marked area of the exhibit hall.
