Believing that quality and environmental awareness play an important part of in our future, we trust the ability of the men that for more than 60 years master the vegetal tan in Portugal.

Our artisans in Natural Park of Serras de Aire e Candeeiros, descend from a line of experienced men that hand craft leather pieces to be used by horse troops and hunters.

Working only with the best leather, the artisans craft manually each and every piece resulting in unique works that they sign individually.

Working in Portugal with the only producer of traditional canvas fabric in Iberian Peninsula, Ideal&Co developed an exclusive, thick and very resistant structured canvas, made of 100% cotton yarns.

Beautiful ancient looms, give at each meter produced for Ideal&co a special uniqueness, making our canvas rucksacks and bags even more singulars.

The dyeing process consist in staining the leather throughout the middle.

In case of scratches the le-ather won’t loose colour.

The painting process consist in staining the leather ex-

clusive in the surface. In case of scratches, it will

evidence the colour contrast with the undyed leather inte-

Castanhal it’s a tribute to Castanhal Village.

The Castanhal Shopper allows multiple uses: can be used in the hand or in the shoulder by adding a removable strap. In the shoulder the bag can be folded looking smaller. Is the top layer of the hide, stronger and long lasting, exhibiting all the beautiful and natural imperfections. Breathable, will absorb the oils and dust throughout

time developing a beautiful patina that will tell the bag’s story. It’s the more noble and best

layer for bags manufacturing. Naturally,

it’s also the more expensive.

Is the 2nd highest leather grade. It’s

surface is sanded to remove scars and

scratches and later finalized with a

treatment that leaves the leather less

breathable and more colour retainer frustrating the

developing of the natural patina.

The 3rd grade of leather is produced with what remains

when the top leather layers are removed.

Normally, the surface is treated to look like the

better layers but naturally it doesn’t

have the same resistance and quality.

The non noble leather layer. Horizontal fibres

make it weak and favour fast

degradation. Perfect if one wants to use the product only once.
